                                                                        DREAMS

She woke up suddenly, her face filled with beads of sweat. Her name was Lycia, the daughter of a police officer in the city of Pittsburgh. Recently she was plagued by insomnia, sleeplessly spending her nights reading. But when she did sleep, she was plagued by nightmares. Dreams that caught ahold of her were filled with a blinding light.

She decided to find the source of her dreams and set out without telling her parents. She was walking when she suddenly had an idea. If someone could control people’s dreams, they would do it from the city antennae station.

So she set out for the antenna station, her heart filled with courage and wits. When she reached the antenna station, she was blocked by a security guard who denied her permission to enter the building.

Lycia knew she had no choice but to beat up the guard and so she kicked him in the gut. The guard writhed in agony and she quickly made him unconscious.

She opened the door and entered the building. Suddenly she heard a sound, something rather like moaning. She followed the sound and was led to a door. She tried to open it but it was locked. She kicked the door open and saw a man’s head hanging in midair, suspended by electric wires.

He was shouting orders to a rat-like creature that was running around, typing something on the computers. She saw the rat click a button and the head was suddenly twitching like crazy and she saw on the computer what he was doing, he was creating nightmares for everyone. So she knew what she had to do. She quickly ripped the wires apart after dashing into the room. She squished the rat-like creature.

Meanwhile the head suddenly burst into smithereens, ending the nightmares with him.

She was relieved. The nightmare machine was gone, the terrible visions silenced. For the first time in weeks, her mind felt light. She shouted into the empty room, her voice echoing off the walls—

“No more dreams!”
